Description:
Original work belonging to the series Suspending Horizons, branch “Evanescences.”
An abstract and ethereal landscape takes shape through translucent layers, aquatic tones, and light overlays. The shades of blue and turquoise evoke a silent lagoon, suspended between memory and imagination.
Made with mixed media on cotton canvas, the work is enriched by delicate gold details hand-applied, a distinctive element of the artist’s artistic research.
A contemplative and elegant piece, ideal for contemporary spaces and collectors of atmospheric abstract art.
The work is signed on the front and back, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Colors may vary slightly depending on the screen.
The technique involves applying color to unprimed cotton canvas, a choice that allows natural pigment absorption and contributes to the soft, organic feel of the piece. For this reason, traces of color may also be visible on the back of the canvas.
Project Statement
Concept Series – Suspending Horizons
My painterly journey dedicated to the Suspending Horizons is based on a search born from the encounter between water and intuition. In these canvases, fluid matter shapes inner landscapes: imagined visions that do not represent real places, but states of mind, perceptual thresholds, and fragments of ephemeral beauty.
The surface develops through light stratifications, transparencies, and sparse patches, evoking silence, waiting, and the breath of a suspended time. In some works, essential marks emerge — stylized blooms, floating petals, reflected trees — symbolic presences that amplify the meditative and dreamlike dimension without imposing a defined narrative.
The series takes shape as a process in flux, open to gestural and formal variations, faithful to a poetics of the unspoken and the threshold. Within this research, three expressive modalities take form, which are not closed categories but movements within the same inquiry.
- Evanescences -
In the “Evanescences” the matter dissolves and withdraws. The image appears as a distant memory, a vision barely grasped, where the landscape becomes rarefied, unstable, suspended between presence and disappearance.
- Presences -
In “Presences” the painting densifies and takes shape. The matter emerges with greater intensity, yet retaining a dreamlike quality, like a form that reveals itself without ever fully defining itself.
- Apparitions -
In the “Apparitions” light emerges from dark depths. Space becomes tighter, and the horizon becomes a distant threshold, a direction toward which the gaze tends, guided by a luminous presence that manifests and withdraws at the same time.
Artist Statement
My work explores the fluid nature of water and its capacity to generate form, movement, and light.
Through the use of watercolors, acrylics, inks, and glazes, I translate this energy into abstract visions that bring silence, mystery, and introspection.
I paint inner landscapes: suspended horizons, reflections, blossoms. Images that do not represent real places, but perceptual states hovering between appearance and dissolution.
I let water guide the process, embracing imperfections and fleeting traces as an essential part of the work.
My research moves between lightness and matter, keeping an open space for interpretation.
Each work is an invitation to slow down and breathe with the eyes.
