H. Franc Delforge pocket watch from 1850–1900 with hand-wound movement, a silver case (800 silver on the inner lid), 47 mm diameter, 60 g weight, in working order with minor wear, No. 3594, Cylindre, 6 Rubis, supplied with two chains (about 16 cm and 38 cm).
Description from the seller
The lot contains the very well-preserved pocket watch, the matching key for winding on a chain (about 16 cm) as well as another chain (about 38 cm). At least the case back of the watch is made of 800 silver (corresponding assay mark on the inside of the lid). The watch shows age-related signs of use (especially small scratches), darkening on the case, and slight brownish discolorations on the white dial. The glass is undamaged.
The watch is functional and ticks softly. After winding, it runs for about 34-35 hours. However, the watch runs fast by up to about half an hour.
On the back of the case it reads: "No. 3594 - H. Franc Delforge, à Thuin - Cylindre, 6 Rubis". Apparently the watch thus belongs to a (limited) series. On the inside of the lid there are, in addition to the silver hallmark and the number 3594, two other engravings as well as four incised letter-and-number combinations by a former owner.
