Pitcher - “3 1/2” - Stoneware

Large antique salt-glazed stoneware jug with a handle, made in salt-glazed earthenware.
The jug features a classic oval shape with a narrow neck and a sturdy handle.
The warm beige/brown speckled glaze is typical of traditional European stoneware.

Fitted with an incised mark/capacity indication (“3 1/2” or similar), which often refers to capacity.

Such jugs were used for storing liquids such as oil, vinegar, or spirits.

A decorative and authentic object with a lovely patina.

Condition:
In antique condition.
Crack/restoration visible at the handle
Small damages and signs of wear
Small dent/manufacturing defect in the wall (see last photo)
Base with wear appropriate for age
No major cracks
