Description from the seller

Magnificent and important Brussels-based set of the tableware from the famous Brussels silversmith Wiskemann. This complete service, in the classic 'ribbed' design, testifies to the exceptional craftsmanship of the Court-appointed silversmith of Belgium in the 20th century.

The set is notable for the variety of its pieces, allowing coverage of all types of services: dining, fish, dessert and service of dishes. Each piece bears the authentic mark of the brand (square with a cross emblem) certifying its origin.

Inventory details and silvering weight:

* Table Service:

11 Large knives (stainless blades marked Wiskemann).

7 Large forks (High quality no. 100).

9 Soup spoons (High quality no. 100).

* Fish Service:

12 Fish knives (no. 60).

* Dessert / Entremets Service:

10 Medium-sized knives (Marked Wiskemann).

12 Entremets forks (no. 72).

12 Dessert spoons (no. 72).

* Pastry Service & Complements:

8 Cake forks with sharp edges (no. 24).

4 Moka spoons (no. 24).

3 Small coffee spoons (no. 24).

* Serving Pieces:

1 Large serving / vegetable spoon (Heavy thickness no. 4).

1 Sauce spoon with pouring lip (no. 2).

Condition:
Original patina, with noticeable signs of wear across all pieces (micro-scratches and rubbing marks from storage and successive cleaning). The silvering remains solid and well-presented. The knife blades require sharpening and show signs of oxidation. This set requires a full polish to restore its original luster, but there is no major desilvering (no visible yellow metal).

Technical characteristics:

Material: High-quality silver-plated metal.

Era: Mid 20th century (circa 1950).

Total weight: 7 kg

Origin: Belgium, Brussels.

"Total weight of the silverware: 7 kg. Secure shipping in reinforced packaging."
