Four cobalt-blue wine glasses – Regency/Victorian, England, circa 1830
An elegant set of four wine glasses, made of deep cobalt-blue glass, dating from around 1830 and originating from England. These glasses fall within the transition from the Regency to the early Victorian period and are characterized by their rich color and refined form.
The glasses have a slim, balanced build with a graceful stem and a bowl that catches the light beautifully. The intense blue glass provides a powerful and decorative effect, typical of luxury glassware from this period.
Such glasses were used at formal occasions and formed an important part of the place setting. Today they are valued as collector’s items within English antique glass and as a decorative ensemble.
