You are bidding on a 4/4 violin, labeled "Jean Baptiste Vuillaume a Paris, rue Croix des Petits Champs".
Condition:
Some tears and wears to original golden amber varnish, no cracks.
Description:
Good quality straight high grained spruce was chosen for the top, and the maple of the two pieces softly flamed back with matched sides, neck and scroll. The purfling is a tasteful work of good craftsmanship, just as the shining, golden amber varnish. Good boxwood set up, new strings, Aubert bridge, the violin is ready to play. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. Full size.
