The Dance is an oil painting by Levko (b. 1972), created in 2026 in Ukraine, measuring 60 × 40 cm, in the Romanticism style, depicting a portrait in a pastoral landscape, hand signed and original in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
The Dance presents two intertwined female figures engaged in a gentle, rhythmic movement, their forms connected through gesture and drapery. The composition unfolds within a pastoral landscape, where the natural setting echoes the harmony and balance of the figures themselves.
The translucent fabric that unites the two subjects becomes both a visual and symbolic element, linking their movement while softening the boundaries between individual presence and shared motion. Their expressions remain composed and inward, suggesting a moment suspended between action and reflection.
Levko’s painting draws from the compositional clarity and idealised forms of romantic classicism, recalling the influence of Pre-Raphaelite and academic traditions. The figures are constructed with precision, yet the atmosphere remains light and fluid, allowing the scene to retain a sense of poetic openness.
The work can be read as an exploration of connection, duality, and continuity, where the physical movement of the figures carries a quieter symbolic resonance.

Artist Bio
Levko (b. 1972, Kyiv, Ukraine) is a contemporary painter whose work draws on the romantic and decorative traditions of 19th-century European painting, particularly the refined aesthetic of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
He studied at the Kyiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture, where an early engagement with structure and proportion informs the compositional clarity of his paintings. Since the early 2000s, he has devoted his practice exclusively to painting, developing a distinct figurative language rooted in precision, surface refinement, and historical awareness.
His compositions are centred on idealised female figures, often set within carefully constructed natural or architectural environments. Through gesture, gaze, and the use of drapery and botanical elements, his works introduce a subtle symbolic dimension, positioning the figure between narrative presence and timeless archetype.
His work is held in private collections across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia.
