Description from the seller
Ancient Egyptian Style Scarab Agate Ring
Front: Clearly engraved with the texture of the scarab's back, including the segmentation and lines of its elytra, representing the most classic design of the ancient Egyptian scarab.
Back: Plain polished, preserving the natural texture of the jade (some ancient scarabs also had hieroglyphs engraved on their backs as seals/amulet).
Scarab Main Stone: This scarab is made of agate, a type of green stone also common in ancient Egyptian scarabs. Its warm texture and natural patterns make each piece unique.
Ring Setting: The inner wall shows the S925 silver marking. This design not only recreates the texture of ancient Egyptian gold jewelry but is also more suitable for everyday wear.
The Scarab Beetle, an Incarnation of the Sun God Khepri, rolls dung balls, which the ancient Egyptians believed symbolized Khepri's role in raising the sun, bringing light and new life. Therefore, the scarab beetle was also known as the "messenger of the sun," representing creation, rebirth, and the eternal cycle of the sun.
A Talisman of Life and Rebirth: The ancient Egyptians observed that scarab beetles lay eggs in dung balls, from which baby beetles emerge. This was seen as a miracle of life "from nothing," making the scarab beetle a symbol of rebirth, resurrection, and eternal life. Whether worn in life or buried with the dead, it was believed to protect the wearer, granting them new life and helping them pass through the underworld.
The Power of Protection and Luck: In ancient Egypt, the scarab beetle was a universally used amulet. People believed it brought good fortune, warded off evil, and protected the wearer from harm. It was also often used as a seal, imbuing contracts with sacred power.
