Description from the seller
L for Lichtenstein — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by the digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays homage to key figures of contemporary art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter L is transformed into a tribute to Roy Lichtenstein, reinterpreting his iconic visual language inspired by comics and the aesthetics of popular culture. The typography is presented as a protagonist element, emerging with force from an explosive composition that evokes the graphic panels of pop art.
The background incorporates the characteristic Ben-Day dots, together with a graphic explosion of lines and color planes that recall the visual effects of comics, generating a sense of impact, dynamism and contained energy. The vibrant colors — yellows, blues, pinks and blacks — reinforce the direct, accessible and visually striking nature of the work.
The three-dimensionality provides a new contemporary reading, transferring Lichtenstein's bidimensional language to a digital sculptural environment, where the letter gains volume, presence and an almost object-like dimension.
The composition plays with the tension between flat and volumetric, between graphic and physical, reinterpreting the codes of pop art from a current perspective. The result is a vibrant, recognizable piece loaded with cultural references.
The work has been created through a completely digital 3D process (CGI), handcrafted with special attention to color, surfaces and the interaction of the graphic elements in space, achieving a clean, precise and highly expressive aesthetic.
The Artphabet has had wide international impact, being disseminated in numerous design, art and visual culture media, establishing itself as one of the most notable artistic typography projects within the recent digital sphere.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI and artificial intelligence, with an established career in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue and MTV, among others.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly-cotton canvas, guaranteeing excellent color reproduction, detail and volume of the digital original.
