Description from the seller
I do not come from a traditional artistic background.
I am an economist by education and a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice, specializing in financial mathematics and risk management. My entire professional career has been dedicated to the capital markets.
For many years, I worked with the Warsaw Stock Exchange, where I was involved in the development of derivative instruments such as options, warrants, and futures contracts.
My generation helped shape the modern Polish economy — at a time when the country needed financial specialists more than artists.
Today, I pass the baton to a younger generation and choose a different path.
I now dedicate myself to what has always been closest to me — painting and photography.
Finally, I have the time to pursue it fully.
You can find me online under the name “mariuszposkart”.
This original oil painting on linen canvas explores a symbolic struggle — not with an external opponent, but with oneself.
The central form, resembling an organic tree, intertwines with a rigid, man-made structure. These elements do not coexist in harmony — they collide, merge, and constrain one another. The composition reflects the tension between nature and structure, instinct and control.
The roots, instead of providing stability, spread chaotically across a fractured surface, suggesting a lack of foundation. The structure, intended to be stable, is gradually overtaken by something alive and unpredictable.
The work can be interpreted as a metaphor for a continuous inner conflict:
– with personal weaknesses
– with internal limitations
– with the challenge of adapting to a new environment
This is not a sudden or dramatic clash — it is a process. Quiet, persistent, and unavoidable.
The painting features a carefully balanced composition, subtle tonal transitions, and a restrained palette that enhances its raw, slightly unsettling atmosphere.
