Description from the seller
Set of 5 Asian Lacquerware Nesting Boxes – Handcrafted – Dragon Decor – Myanmar/Burma – Vintage 20th Century
A refined and decorative set of five handcrafted Asian lacquerware boxes, beautifully designed in a nesting format, each fitting perfectly inside the other.
Originating most likely from Myanmar (Burma), these boxes are executed in traditional lacquer technique, featuring a deep red ground enriched with intricate hand-engraved patterns and highlighted in green, yellow, and black tones. The decoration is centered around stylized dragons and floral motifs, symbols traditionally associated with protection, prosperity, and harmony.
Each piece is carefully made, showcasing the characteristic craftsmanship of Southeast Asian lacquerware, where multiple layers of lacquer are applied and finely incised before being colored.
The set is both functional and highly decorative, ideal for:
storing small objects, sweets, or jewelry
use as elegant table presentation pieces
enhancing an interior with an exotic and warm aesthetic
Perfectly suited for a Spring & Garden themed setting, adding a touch of artisanal charm and cultural richness to the table or interior.

Smallest box: approx. 8 cm diameter
