Julien Colombier is a French artist born in 1972, who lives and works in Paris.
Self-taught painter, he mainly works with acrylic and soft pastels and his supports range from canvas to paper, including walls, wood or installations. He is strongly influenced by the graffiti world, Japanese art, Matisse and Keith Haring.
Colombier's artistic universe is at once dreamlike, magical, flamboyant and unsettling. It is inhabited by jungles or lush tropical forests that play with the boundaries of figuration and decoration. The artist repeats his geometric, organic and botanical motifs obsessively, creating an environment where strong contrasts tend to hypnotize the viewer.
His works depict a dehumanized world, before or after his disappearance, where nature takes or regains its place. They are heavily influenced by biblical references such as the apocalypse, the flood, visions, divine lights, hell and heaven, as well as by urban culture, graphic design, advertising, and comics.
Far from a simply naturalistic vision, Julien uses the floral motif as a graphical element whose infinite repetition makes sense, playing with textures and volumes for an intoxicating, almost tangible result. Added to this is an impressive vision of color. A contrasted, explosive result, where the movement seems to have paused for an instant. Ready to interfere with reality.
The artist regularly collaborates with major brands to customize stores or products (such as Cartier in 2015, Chanel, Hennessy).
Painter since always, he sees collaborations follow one another and evolve toward the highest peaks. Chanel, Bulgari, Hennessy, Diptyque or luxury hotels call on his distinctive style.
The object will be carefully wrapped and sent in a tube designed for this purpose. Tracking shipment, insured and requiring a signature upon delivery.
Julien Colombier belongs to the urban art movement, like other artists such as JonOne, Futura, Invader, Banksy, Miss Tic, Kaws, Damien Hirst, Obey, ....
