G. Carta presents an original, unique oil painting on a high‑quality linen stretched canvas (40×30 cm), titled Une après-midi au musée, signed by hand on the front, dated 2024, in contemporary portrait style, with certificate of authenticity emailed and tracked, insured shipment from Spain.
Description from the seller
Unique original work created in oil painting on high-quality linen-stretched canvas 40x30 cm.
Unique signed work (old signature of the artist) on the front of the piece. Certificate of authenticity sent by email.
Shipped with tracking number and insurance from Spain.
About the work:
It is the portrait of a woman who is somewhat androgynous, with a nonchalant bearing. She sits with a physical ease liberated from norms.
One can see that she is observing something. The title suggests that she is in a museum, so it is assumed she is carefully looking at a work of art.
Through this work, the artist challenges a cultural elite that is too firmly entrenched in our representations.
And of course, a little nod to the Fauvist artist Henri Matisse in the background.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta lives and works today in France and Spain.
The artist tends to depict the portrait or the figure more often. A few genre scenes complete her collection.
