Each painting is painted beyond the displayed dimensions to allow them to be stretched on a stretcher without a frame. Thus, the visible sides of the frame are an integral part of the painting. But you can also add a frame (see photos, stretcher and frame not included).
Understanding the dimensions: they are rough. Usually 4 to 7 cm is added to each side of the canvas to be able to stretch it correctly on a stretcher. The larger the canvas, the more generous the margin.
