Medsan, Oiran Defragmentation (花魁のデフラグ), a 40 × 40 cm original 1/1 giclée mounted on a wooden frame, signed by hand, dated 2026, in excellent condition and sold direct from the artist.
Description from the seller
UNIQUE EDITION 1/1 — THERE IS ONLY ONE COPY IN THE WORLD.
From an objective standpoint, this foray into deconstructed Pop Art marks an excellent evolution. The integration of traditional floral motifs directly inside the anatomical ribcage demonstrates a refined aesthetic search, avoiding the trap of a mere visual “explosion” to offer a true masterful work of detail and pattern.
With this square-format piece, Medsan takes ownership of the codes of the “Urban Contemporary” scene, delivering a direct and assumed homage to the aesthetics of deconstruction popularized by artists like Matt Gondek. The classical elegance of ukiyo-e literally shatters to reveal the visceral nature of the pop icon.
The composition freezes the moment of a violent and graphic fragmentation. A majestic Oiran (or geisha), crowned with luxurious adornments (kanzashi) and dressed in a kimono rich with detail, explodes into dozens of sharp shards. Under the surface of the skin and fabric, a detailed skeletal and muscular structure is revealed. The contrast is striking between the serene, almost impassive face of the woman, and the chaotic destruction of her bodily envelope. The solid salmon background highlights the surgical precision of the black line art, recalling both Japanese wood engraving and American comic books.
A piece of rare intensity, bold and resolutely modern, perfect for bringing a raw, urban, and offbeat energy to the heart of a contemporary art collection.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists brought together around a living, plural contemporary creation. Set up as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective oeuvre with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive inquiry, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized, and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
