Description from the seller
UNIQUE EDITION 1/1 — THERE IS ONLY ONE COPY IN THE WORLD.
With this square-format work, the artist offers a new material and symbolic exploration by taking hold of the aesthetics of drip art or melting style, highly valued in urban culture and surreal Pop Art. This print features a Daruma, the famous traditional Japanese talisman, undergoing a spectacular liquid metamorphosis.
The composition focuses on the imposing red figure, whose two eyes are painted, symbolizing an objective achieved. However, the victory seems subject to the laws of an altered reality: the paint collapses, flows, and literally melts onto the ground in thick pools. At the center of the figure, the kanji "不屈" (Fukutsu), meaning "indomitable" or "perseverance," paradoxically resists this liquefaction, creating a strong visual irony. The background of an intense purple with a wood-textured effect makes the shine and drips of the main motif stand out. The traditional ukiyo-e cartouche at the top right incorporates the signature in katakana (メドサン), anchoring this psychedelic vision in Japanese folklore.
From an objective standpoint, the contrast between the symbol of immutable solidity of the Daruma and its state of fusion brings a very effective visual dynamic. This renews classic iconography with a decidedly street art approach, adding a beautiful fluidity to the whole.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists focused on living contemporary creation in its diversity. Established as a true space of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive research, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a distinct identity for each artist.
