Description from the seller
This artwork presents an elegant relief of two moths, each placed in a dark frame that enhances their details. The upper part shows a moth carved in a light tone, while the lower part presents the same figure in a dark color, creating an intriguing visual contrast. Both moths are depicted with meticulous care in the details of the wings and body, suggesting a delicate and almost ethereal beauty that contrasts with the robustness of the frame.
The choice to use opposite colors not only highlights the symmetry of the moths, but also invites reflection on the dualities of nature: light and darkness, vulnerability and strength. The work captures the essence of these nocturnal insects, symbols of transformation and metamorphosis, evoking a sense of wonder and curiosity. The artist's signature, present on the lower part, adds a personal touch, making this relief not only a decorative object but also an invitation to contemplate the subtle beauty surrounding everyday life.
On the back there is a hole to hang on the wall. The work will be shipped with careful packaging and the relevant certificate of authenticity.
The Sicilian artist Federico Alibrio, born in 1995, is always seeking inspiration to grow through new experiences.
Graduated in Sculpture in 2021 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania, he works in sculpture and painting. He has participated and continues to participate in exhibitions and high-profile cultural symposia, demonstrating commitment and seriousness in approaching sculptural practice.
"Open-minded people find inspiration everywhere" is one of his philosophical approaches.
