Description from the seller
Title of the work: Inner Vision
Artist: Federico Alibrio
Technique: Terracotta with cold patination
Description:
In this solemn and concise interpretation of the boreal owl (barbagianni), Federico Alibrio abandons descriptive detail to seek the mythical essence of the nocturnal raptor. The piece, titled “Inner Vision,” presents itself as a modern totem, a point of contact between the tangible world and the world of the invisible.
The form, elongated and austere, evokes an ancient sacredness. The eyes, deep, silent hollows, do not look outward, but seem turned toward metaphysical introspection: the boreal owl here is not a predator, but a guardian of inner knowledge and of the secrets that emerge only in the quiet of the night.
Technical and Material Details:
The Material: Terracotta, a primordial element, is here elevated by a sophisticated cold patination in bronze and golden tones. This finish creates an alluring play of light and shadow on the scratched and textured surfaces, giving the sculpture the appearance of an archaeological find just brought to light.
The Style: The definite contours and vertical incisions on the body of the bird emphasize the verticality of the piece, recalling the stillness of Byzantine icons or primitive sculptures.
The Authenticity: The piece is hand-signed by the artist on the back and features the monogram engraved on the front, guaranteeing a unique and original work.
Meaning:
Inner Vision is an invitation to pause and reflect. In a world saturated with visual stimuli, Alibrio’s boreal owl chooses to close its eyes to “see” beyond the surface, offering the collector not only an object of art but a symbol of wisdom and spiritual depth.
The work was formed in clay and fired, then patinated cold.
On the back there is a hole to be able to hang it on the wall. It will be shipped in careful packaging with the related certificate of authenticity.
The Sicilian artist Federico Alibrio, born in 1995, is always seeking inspiration through new experiences.
Diploma in Sculpture in 2021 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania, he works in sculpture and painting. He has participated and continues to participate in exhibitions and symposia of high cultural profile, demonstrating commitment and seriousness in approaching sculptural practice.
"Open-minded people find inspiration everywhere" is one of his philosophical approaches.
Reality itself is the greatest source of inspiration. His passions are: wildlife (sensitive to endangered species) and trees. His aim is to display the beauty of nature.
