Description from the seller
Moonlight Weaver - Sleeping Barn Owl by Federico Alibrio
Description of the work
In this masterful piece, Federico Alibrio transforms terracotta into a fragment of crystallized night. The barn owl, always custodian of mysteries and messenger between the visible world and the invisible one, is not here merely depicted, but woven through a fabric of grooves and patinas that seem to hold back the moonlight.
The animal's pose, gathered in a silent introspection, invites the viewer to a moment of contemplation. The cold patination technique enhances the sculpture's vibrant texture: ivory and ash-gray tones, interrupted by subtle ochre veins that emerge like golden reflections, confer upon the piece an aura of timeless antiquity, as if it were a relic of a dreamlike civilization.
"Moonlight Weaver" is a tribute to quiet wisdom. The title suggests the nocturnal bird's ability to move between shadows, weaving darkness with its inner light. The wings, hinted at by decisive yet fluid incisions, envelop the body in a protective embrace, making the work a symbol of protection and spiritual vigilance.
