Remarkable work for its abundant iconography including several engravings, folding maps, and chromolithograph plates in color.
Period binding in half leather with a spine decorated with gilding and marbled boards. Marbled edges.
Numerous high-quality illustrations: antique scenes, sculptures, geographical maps, as well as several color plates (notably vases and ancient representations).
Overall condition: good.
Binding shows rubbing and some leather losses.
Interior complete, quite solid.
There are foxing spots and staining on some pages.
Fold-out maps present.
