Description from the seller
CONCEPT OPERA
"Fly, fly over my head
Pretending it will be like a big party
Many missiles have decided to launch
Across the long and wide sea
With balloons they are sent
To hide from the untrustworthy
(For this war in the garb of peace
Almost the whole world stays silent)
As if they were friendly little things, they’re described
But I don’t buy into these derelicts"

ARTIST NEWS
Laura Muolo, born in 1975, a Milan native who made Rimini her adopted home. She approached art as a self-taught artist from 2013. Her starting medium is graphite, with which she immediately sought the realism of faces, later turning to other media such as pastel and painting.
She participates in many group shows across Italy and internationally and exhibits her works in important Italian museums. Her works are part of several private collections worldwide. Four solo exhibitions so far. She collaborated on creating the cover of a poetry book in 2015 and on the cover of a philosophy book in 2023.
Winner and finalist in several art competitions, nationally and internationally.
Laura describes her work this way: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, sanding, perfecting. Sometimes I use pastel on cardboard to grasp the subject’s essence directly and instinctively. My style is realistic, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions and stories to decipher.
My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures absorbed in their thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what is not seen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene begins from photographs of young subjects and takes shape through symbols, objects and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. Painting, for me, is a journey into the dimension of the unsaid.”
Laura collaborates with the Ranarossa Galleries in Modena and Lojelo Art Gallery in Volterra
