Description from the seller
Set of 12 dessert or decorative ceramic dishes produced by: Ceramica Quadrifoglio in the 80s/90s, made in Italy with a transfer technique. It features a classic blue-and-white motif with a gallant or Victorian scene at the center and floral decorations on a scalloped edge made in ironstone or high-quality porcelain. Ideal for decorating furniture, walls, etc. The design is strongly influenced by the Romantic movement, with a pastoral scene. It depicts a couple in period clothing (likely late 18th century) standing near a large tree with leafy branches, with a rustic cottage and a bridge in the background. The intention was to evoke a sense of rural nostalgia. Ceramica Quadrifoglio’s production is historically linked to two main locations in Italy, depending on the period and product type: Gallese (Viterbo): This is the main industrial site associated with Ceramica Quadrifoglio srl, active since 1974 in the Viterbo area, a district historically renowned for the production of ceramics and sanitaryware. Florence: There is also a historic workshop named Il Quadrifoglio Firenze, specialized in maiolicas and artistic ceramics, active mainly between 1955 and 1960. Based on the mark stamped on the back of the plate reading “Made in Italy” it is typical of the more modern and industrial production, making the origin the Gallese plant. Size: diameter 19.5 cm.
