Walking stick - Horn

Walking cane made of horn (probably bovine or buffalo), composed of numerous segments (mosaic work) with a interlocking technique, stacked and fixed around a central core of metal or wood. Those small light spots visible on each section are rivets or metal pins that hold the structure together. The handle in a "T" shape (also called Tau-shaped) suggests practical, everyday use, typical of the late 19th century or early 20th century. The tip is reinforced with a metal cap, probably iron or steel, necessary to protect the organic material of the cane from wear and impacts with the ground. Dimensions: length 87.5 cm, width 10.5 cm, diameter 2.3 cm.
