Antique votive lamp / church hanging lamp – brass – richly decorated – late 19th / early 20th century

An exceptionally atmospheric and rare antique votive lamp, originating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This type of pendant lamp was traditionally used in churches and devotional spaces and served as a symbolic light at an altar or holy statue.

This piece is executed in brass and immediately stands out for its refined, religious ornamentation. The suspension chains are particularly detailed with repeating cross motifs, giving the piece a pronounced ecclesiastical character. The graceful edge with openwork crosses further strengthens this image.

The central lamp is richly decorated with relief ornamentation of grape clusters and leaves, a classic symbol within Christian iconography, referring to wine and the Eucharist. The elegantly shaped handles on both sides and the decorative lower pendants complete the look.

Inside there are clear signs of use, appropriate to the age and original function. The object has developed a beautiful, authentic patina that enhances its historic appearance.

This is a particularly decorative and collectible item that works well in both a classic interior and an eclectic or spiritual setting. Also very suitable as a unique statement piece.
