Micol Forti (Rome, 1964) is a respected historian of modern and contemporary art, at the helm of the Vatican Museums’ Contemporary Art Collection.
Formed with a Specialization School and a PhD, she has consolidated her academic profile at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, where she held the position of lecturer of Art Literature and Museology, focusing her research on critical thought and the expressive currents of the 20th century.
In institutional terms, since 2016 she has held the role of Consultor at the Pontifical Council for Culture, within which she is also an active member of the Permanent Women’s Consultative Body. Of international distinction is her activity for the Venice Biennale: she was curator of the Holy See Pavilion in 2015 (56th edition) and Executive Director for the pavilion’s debut in 2013 (55th edition).
