Usain St. Leo Bolt (Sherwood Content, Trelawny, 21 August 1986) is a former sprinter from Jamaica. He is the current world record holder and Olympic champion in the 100 m, 200 m and the 4 x 100 metre relay. Moreover Bolt, nicknamed The Lightning Bolt and Thunderbolt, holds the world junior record in the 200 m with 19.93 seconds and as a junior (under 20) was the only one to manage to run this distance under 20 seconds. Bolt competed in the Olympics four times. He is also the first athlete to win both the 100 m and the 200 m at three consecutive Games (2008-2016). He also won the 4 x 100 m relay twice. On the list of most successful Olympic medalists at the Summer Games, he occupies joint tenth place after the 2016 edition. On 12 August 2017 he participated in his last race in the 4 x 100 m relay at the World Championships in London, where he failed as the final runner with a hamstring injury to his left leg as he was about to surge from third position.
