Old Bambara plaque depicting a female figure with large ears.
The base is pierced on both sides to attach it to a wicker basket that was worn on the head.
The edges of the plaque are zigzagged.
The navel and the breasts are depicted.
The rounded face appears solemn and concentrated.
This kind of object worn during ceremonies is quite rare.
Good condition.
Originates from the Segou region.

Ancienne plaque Bambara figurant un personnage féminin aux grandes oreilles.
La base est percée des 2 côtés pour pouvoir la fixer à un panier en osier que l'on fixait sur la tête.
Les bords de la plaque sont en zigzag.
Le nombril et les seins sont représentés.
Le visage arrondi semble grave et concentré.
Ce genre d'objet porté lors de cérémonies est assez rare.
Bon etat.
