BLACH (Maxime Blachère) presents Octopus 2, a hand-signed limited edition (12/30) artwork on canvas, 50 × 75 cm, created in 2025 with mixed media in blue, in excellent condition, origin France, sold directly by the artist and accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
"even if he admits to finding a octopus salad rather delicious, the artist aims to raise awareness about ecology and species extinction"
Octopus 2 is an emblematic work by BLACH (Maxime Blachère), blending urban art, humor and contemporary engagement.
This monumental octopus, entirely covered in graffiti, embodies an explosion of colors, signs and references drawn from street art culture.
A nod to COP21, the work distorts militant codes with irony, in reference to the graffiti artist COPE2, a recognized figure in graffiti.
The painted messages play with language: ABAB instead of ACAB, RIB instead of RIP, 1-2-1-2, I was here, all of which are ironic detours.
We also find the altered signature of the famous graffiti artist PAPI 183 (Taky 183), integrated as a playful homage to the history of graffiti.
The octopus symbolizes nature, the proliferation of ideas and human grip on the oceans, treated here with humor and self-deprecation.
Each tentacle tells a story, between controlled visual chaos and a dynamic composition.
The contrast between the marine background and the graphical saturation strengthens the visual impact of the piece.
Octopus 2 is a strong piece, both engaged, pop and provocative.
An ideal work for collectors sensitive to contemporary urban art, perfect for highlighting on Catawiki.
