Description from the seller
Pair of small decorative maiolica ewers in Italian Renaissance style, probably Deruta, from the first half of the 20th century.
Polychrome glazed earthenware with a compartmentalized design, snake-shaped handles and grotesque masks applied. Fine workmanship inspired by Renaissance Italian models with grotesque motifs and stylized designs painted by hand.
Both pieces bear a monogram or number on the underside.
One ewer shows a slight chip under the base. Both show small areas of enamel loss at the spout, otherwise a good overall presentation.
Dimensions approx:
Height: 19 cm
Circumference: 24 cm
Base diameter: 5 cm
Total weight: approx. 600 g.
