Description from the seller
The series "Crystals" presents itself as a territory of tension between transparency and superposition, between what is visible and that which remains suspended. The geometric shapes, seemingly precise and rational, stop being closed structures to become permeable bodies, traversed by light, color, and gaze. There is no cold or normative geometry here; each plane seems to shift, float, or dematerialize in a space that never fully stabilizes.
The crystal functions as a philosophical metaphor of contemporary perception: an element capable of reflecting, refracting, and fragmenting reality simultaneously. The translucent layers produce unexpected chromatic encounters, generating new forms that do not exist by themselves, but in relation to others. The work is built from the idea that all identity is relational and mutable, never fixed or absolute. Each color modifies the other; each plane alters the reading of space. What we see always depends on the position from which we look.
The intensely blue background operates as an expansive, almost immaterial dimension, on which the figures seem suspended in a state of unstable balance. The void does not act as absence, but as a field of possibility. In this sense, the painting dialogues with a phenomenological conception of space: the image does not represent an object, but a perceptual experience in constant transformation.
The transparencies also introduce a reflection on time. The shapes do not appear as definitive instants, but as traces, displacements, or memories of movement. The overlay of planes recalls that all human experience is made up of accumulative strata: memories, emotions, perceptions, and relations that intertwine without completely disappearing.
In Crystals, geometry ceases to be merely a language of order and becomes a sensory structure. The work proposes a slow contemplation, where the observer discovers that reality is neither compact nor stable, but fragile, changing, and traversed by multiple transparencies. Each intersection reveals that every truth always contains latent other possibilities.
