It’s night, but not dark — this is the distinction the painting insists on making. The branches rise silently from below, thin as thoughts, toward a crown that dissolves into cyan and pale green, as if moonlight had been trapped among the leaves. And then there are the golden specks: scattered, irregular, small as fireflies or shooting stars seen from the forest floor. The blue isn’t cold — it’s dense, alive, breathing. There’s something deeply quiet in this landscape, as if time had stopped in the only moment of the day when everything stops rushing.
