Description from the seller
An Art Nouveau shuttle-style ring made approximately between 1890 and 1910, a jewel that perfectly reflects the artistic and naturalist spirit of this movement. Its organic, fluid design delicately recalls a musical key, as if the metal traced a stylized musical movement in the air, a very characteristic inspiration of Art Nouveau, where nature, rhythm, and curved lines were transformed into authentic wearable works of art. Crafted in rose gold, the ring features a harmonious arrangement of gemstones formed by 10 princess-cut rubies of 0.01 ct that run along the center of the design, contributing an intense red hue, accompanied by 3 pink-cut diamonds of 0.08 ct that provide a soft and romantic sparkle and 10 rock-cut diamonds of 0.01 ct that enhance the curves with subtle flashes. As a curious detail, the pink-cut of the diamonds was especially popular in the late 19th century because it was designed to reflect the warm light of candles and the early electric lamps, creating a delicate glow highly valued in jewelry of the era. Each line of this piece reveals the craftsmanship and originality of a period in which jewelry was conceived as unique creations, making this ring a singular, elegant piece full of history.
The gemstones are commonly treated to improve color or clarity. This has not been investigated for this specific item.
The piece does not show a distinguishing hallmark; the gold has previously been checked by a professional.
It ships perfectly boxed, by registered mail and insured.
The piece ships with standard packaging.
It can be picked up in Madrid or Barcelona, by prior arrangement.
