First edition from 1663 by Olfert Dapper, titled Historische beschrijving van Amsterdam, bound in vellum and published by Jacob Meurs, with 572 pages, measuring 32 cm by 21 cm, in Dutch and illustrated with 72 engravings and maps.

Historical description of the city of Amsterdam: in which, in the chief histories (after a short account of all Holland and the surrounding villages, such as crafts-manorities, located under this city), during the times of the Reformed, the Dutch troubles, and under Prince William the Second, as stadtholder, the events that occurred here in this city are treated, and all the city’s common buildings, both spiritual and worldly, are shown in more than seventy copper plates, with their accompanying descriptions. Reasonably good. Inner hinge slightly open at the back - the book block attached in the binding. The last gathering loosening a bit, edge of three sheets slightly frayed. Interior browned, here and there a spot, damp spot(s) under the corner of about 50 pages, black spots in the inner margin of 6 index sheets, about 10 pages smeared, pencil scribbles on 6 pages. Tear, 1 to 2 cm in the margin of about 15 pages. Small chips from margins of 8 leaves, and a large tear in page 449/450, about 16 cm. Some typesetting errors in paging (jump back twice to 449, 8 pages between 48 and 49 unnumbered). Three columns of the index later added by hand.
