This is the third edition of 'Épaves' after the first edition published under the care of A. Poulet-Malassis during his Brussels period, in 1866, with the frontispiece by Rops and its explanation; and the second, still by the same P.-M. (Impr. J.H. Briard) without a frontispiece, issued in the same year (1866), the first at 250 copies numered (and 10 Chine), the second at 500 copies on vellum. This third edition is referenced by Oberlé as printed on laid paper from Holland.

The present copy contains a few spots of foxing and a few wormholes from old age (see photos, notably at the end).
