"Yin" is a pictorial journey toward the deep essence of femininity, not as a biological category or a cultural stereotype, but as an primal, receptive, and transforming force. Inspired by the Yin principle within Taoist thought, this series unfolds images that do not narrate, but evoke; do not describe femininity, but embody it. Here, the woman is symbol and presence. She is not represented as an object of gaze, but as a symbolic territory of creation, containment, and rebirth. The silhouettes, sometimes blurred, sometimes full, emerge from a palette that dialogues with shadow, the organic, the nocturnal. Soft textures, flowing lines, and silent compositions invite contemplation of the mystery rather than its resolution. "Ying" is the cave and the seed, the womb and the cycle. It is the energy that embraces rather than confronts, that transforms without the need for noise. These paintings are thresholds: portals toward an ancient, collective femininity that inhabits beyond time and form.

Carlos Asensio was born in Castellón in 1986. At a young age he began his academic training under the tutelage of Cuban artist Amaury Suárez.

He holds a Doctorate in Fine Arts, with a summa cum laude distinction, and has a Master’s in Artistic Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has also completed a Studio Program at the Berlin Art Institute where he received instruction from renowned artists such as Bernhard Martin, Larissa Fassler, Nikola Röthemeyer, or Various & Gould. His research work has led him to participate in several international university congresses, as well as to publish in humanities journals such as Human Review or Peter Lang.

Among his highlights are several solo exhibitions, including those at the Tomás y Valiente Art Center in Fuenlabrada, the Municipal Museum of Albacete, and Centro 14 in Alicante. Regarding group shows, he has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In the collective exhibition Ciclamen for the Léucade Gallery of Murcia, a collaborative project at the DXIX Projects space in Fort Collins, in two editions of GlogauAIR Open Studios, or BAAM#3 at Monopol Berlin. The traveling exhibition Atlas del Arte Español held at the Exhibition Hall of the Usera Municipal Council, the Mauro Muriendas Hall in Torrelavega, and the O Vello Cárcere Cultural Center in Lugo. Various exhibitions carried out with the Infinity Art project at fairs such as the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam, Art Madrid, or Estampa in Madrid. The 2019_n3 collective show at Piramidón Centre D´Art Contemporani in Barcelona, the Art Spring 2019 event held in Berlin, six editions of Marte International Contemporary Art Fair in Castellón, the III Bienal de las Artes Ciutat Vella Oberta in Valencia, or the II Call of La New Fair in Madrid.

Additionally, some of his pieces are present in important private collections such as the Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno and Piramidón Centre D´Art Contemporani in Barcelona, the Museo Arte Contemporanea Sicilia in Catania, and public institutions such as the Museu de la Ciutat de Castelló. On a private level, his work is present in collections across Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, and the United States.
