Description from the seller
Six-piece set of antique Art Nouveau wine stems, crafted circa 1900 from emerald-green solidly dyed crystal glass with a very fine wall thickness of about 1 mm. The cup shows a flowing transition from a deep palm cut into a fine diamond-cut lattice, combined with a hand-set 6-facet stem. The lip rim is flower-shaped and follows, in a wavy form, the geometry of the palm cut as evidence of elaborate manual bow-cut grinding at a goblet diameter of 7.7 cm. The base is high-arched with a dome-shaped polished break edge as evidence of early fabrication using a punt iron. The glass height is precisely 17.7 cm with negligible tolerances, indicating excellent handmade workmanship. Under UV light, the material shows no fluorescence, thereby excluding the use of uranium oxide. The set is in very good condition for its age, with one glass revealing, under magnification, a minimal flea-bite and a fine scratch probably caused by a ring on the outside at the lip. Due to the high quality and form, the set is attributed to the vicinity of the Bohemian manufacturer Meyr’s Neffe. Shipping is securely packed, insured, and traceable; overseas shipping is not available.
