R.Robin - Ciudad en tension - XL

This work is part of my series “Intimate Territories,” a body of work in which I explore the relationship between identity and the space we inhabit. In this case, I build an emotional landscape from an accumulation of houses that do not respond to real geography, but to a fragmented memory. The house appears as a symbol of the permanent, of what sustains, while the surrounding environment, vibrant and changing, acts like that garden or territory in constant transformation that defines our experiences. The intense red background tensions the entire composition, generating an active, almost latent atmosphere, where each form seems to sustain itself in an unstable balance.

Technical level: the work is articulated through a combination of saturated color planes and freer gestures that break the rigidity of geometry. I work with acrylic on canvas, seeking a dialogue between the constructed and the spontaneous: simplified, repeated structures that overlap and coexist with more open and diffused areas. The color palette, rich and contrasted, does not describe but intensifies the visual experience, while vertical rhythms and small black interruptions introduce pauses within the compositional density. The result is an intimate territory that is not contemplated as a landscape, but inhabited from within.

About R. Robin

Robinson Rodríguez García is a visual artist, theatre designer, and drawing teacher, born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and resident in Spain. He graduated in 2003 from the Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, developing an artistic practice centered on painting and contemporary language, where abstraction, geometry, and a strong symbolic charge converge. Between 2003 and 2005 he taught drawing workshops at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech School of Art Instructors, and between 2006 and 2009 he worked as a costume and set designer for the Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Santa Clara, an experience that decisively influenced his spatial and formal conception within the visual arts.

His work has been presented in several solo exhibitions in Cuba, highlighting shows at the Provincial Gallery of Art and in institutional spaces in Santa Clara. He has also participated in important group exhibitions and international fairs, including Art Basel Miami, group exhibitions in France, and contemporary art events in the Americas and Europe. In 2017 he participated in art fairs in Mexico. His career is complemented by studies and international workshops related to stage design and visual creation, consolidating a multidisciplinary artistic profile that engages with painting, space, and the contemporary symbolic experience.

About preparation and packaging:

The work is signed by the artist R. Robin and is accompanied by its corresponding certificate of authenticity, likewise signed. The canvas will be shipped rolled and protected in a professional cardboard tube, ensuring its proper conservation during transport. The shipment will be made within a maximum of three business days from the date of purchase confirmation, and the delivery time will depend on the chosen courier company.
