Akira Yamaguchi is a Tokyo-born painter who draws inspiration from traditional pictorial forms, interpreted in a personal and innovative way. Invited to France by Pierre-Alexandre Dumas, he discovers the different facets of the Hermès house. This composition is a meeting between Japanese culture and the Lyonnaise silk craftsmanship, paying homage to the artisans. At the center of the drawing are two samurai: the woman rides a horse-motorcycle, the man holds the reins. This modern chimera is surrounded by scenes depicting the Parisian Faubourg Saint-Honoré store and the silk, leather, and saddlery workshops.
