Verssan finds through pastel a way to own the body through plays of curves, hollows and fullness, of shadows and lights by rubbing, blending and blowing the medium onto the paper. The artist treats his subjects using harmonies of tone while playing with the color of the support in warm gray tones, revealing both softness and delicacy but also strength and virility.
