Description from the seller
Pair of Rococo-style Portrait Miniatures
This splendid pair of miniatures depicts iconic figures of 18th-century French nobility, created in a style that echoes the elegance of the Marie Antoinette era. The subjects, set within refined ovals, show remarkable attention to detail, particularly in the elaborate hairstyles and the period costumes typical of court portraiture.
The works are housed in richly decorated frames made of wood and gilded stucco, characterized by scrollwork, floral motifs, and a dark background that makes the brilliance of the gold and the green details stand out. The right-hand frame bears a signature (Lebrun) that pays tribute to the renowned painter Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, suggesting that the portraits are inspired by her most famous works.
These pieces represent an excellent example of refined interior decoration, ideal for antique art collectors or for those looking to add a touch of classical, historical elegance to their home.
Conditions: The objects are in overall excellent condition, with normal and light signs of aging on the frames that attest to their age and enhance their authentic charm.
