With 563 black-and-white illustrations in the text. Compared to the preceding editions, this 4th edition “distinguishes itself for having been kept informed of all scientific and practical advances made in the last decade in the field of this delicate part of mechanics” (.). Excellent condition of this rare Hoepli manual devoted to the mechanics of pocket watches (from pocket) also calendars and with lunar-phase gearing, on watches with seconds (chronographs) the alarm clocks, the great tower and campanile clocks, and the apartment pendulums; the mysterious clocks and automata. A full chapter dedicated to the new electrical watchmaking.
