London: George G. Harrap, 1932. First edition. Hardcover. Original illustrated cloth, top edge faded red. Light foxing, mainly on the first and last pages. Printed in Paris by H. Piazza & Cie. 10 full-page color plates and many other color illustrations in the text. A copy in excellent condition with publisher's illustrated cloth binding. Mario Laboccetta (1899-1988) was born in Naples but moved to Paris at a young age, where he became famous for his richly colored, detailed, and sometimes erotic illustrations for posters, magazines, and books, notably this volume and a edition of Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du Mal. Almost perfect with the dust jacket in fair condition. Solid, square binding. The dust jacket in Mylar is sun-faded, with small tears and interior repairs with adhesive tape at the ends of the spine.
