Northwest Africa (NWA 17215)
Classification: achondrite HED (Eucrite)
History: the meteorite was purchased from a trader in Algeria.
Physical characteristics: Many light gray rocks lacking a fusion crust.
Petrography: Non-brecciated basalt composed mainly of pyroxene grains up to 1 mm in size and calcium plagioclase partially in a lath-like form, heavily fractured. Minor phases are silica, chromite, ilmenite, FeS and zircon.
No metallic iron detected.

Caratteristiche fisiche: Molte rocce grigiastre chiare prive di crosta di fusione.
Petrografia: basalto non brecciato composto prevalentemente da pirosseno
disciolto di dimensioni fino a 1 mm e plagioclasio calcico parzialmente a forma di listello, fortemente fratturato. Le fasi minori sono silice, cromite, ilmenite, FeS e zircone.
Nessun ferro metallico rilevato.
