AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This contemporary sculpture engages the transparency of resin with the delicate presence of a red glazed porcelain flower, frozen at the heart of the skull. A symbol of fragility and vitality, the flower contrasts with the skull's mass, evoking the tension between life and finitude.

Delivered with certificate of authenticity and illuminated pedestal

- I created my image for Falen Art with the aim of building a unique, modern and elegant visual identity able to represent my artistic work and values.
After studying graphic design in Namur and a strong taste for travel and cultural diversity, Natalie Matis’s vocation for porcelain was born in China during a trip.
Upon returning to Belgium, she joined the Porcepolis workshop in Brussels, where she deepened her particular fondness for porcelain; she loves this material for its whiteness, its nobility, its translucency, its intimacy with glaze, and its softness.
She offers a range of decorative objects with minimalist design.
For several years, Nathalie Matis refined her ceramic study in various ateliers and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Braine L’Alleud with ceramist Geert van Der Borght.
Passionate about ceramics, she explores various techniques as a self-taught artist and has a strong fascination for raku, a mysterious meeting of mastery and randomness, a fragile adventure between the potter’s dream and metamorphosis.
