Kai Clements
Kai Clements (alias Kai & Sunny), born in 1975, is an artist based in the United Kingdom. He studied at Epsom School of Art in Surrey, where he earned a distinction in art and design.
Kai & Sunny’s works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, fluid movements, and meticulously layered compositions. Executed in acrylic on linen and pen on archival paper, each piece is instantly recognizable and reveals a subtle balance between precision and spontaneity, giving Kai’s practice a unique visual signature.
The name Kai & Sunny carries a strong ethic of collaboration with other artists, emphasizing the collective. This approach unites talents around the idea of “unity” and allows the artist to evolve and thrive continually.
Through his affiliation with the collective, Kai Clements (Kai & Sunny) has collaborated with Tiffany & Co, on musical projects with Toydrum (Slow Horses soundtrack) and on narrative projects with author David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas). Collaborating with artists and exploring different domains of innovation and expression enriches the unique working process to which Kai attaches great importance.
Kai & Sunny have exhibited worldwide, notably in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Paris and London, and their works have been shown at the Haunch of Venison Institute. Their prints are part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s print collection.
