Description from the seller
Tatakauzo
Tatakauzo is a French artist; he began painting in 1998 following an artistic revelation during a retrospective dedicated to Keith Haring at the MoMA in San Francisco. This experience acted as a true trigger and marked the beginning of an instinctive and free pictorial practice.
His painting develops in a spontaneous gesture, almost automatic: forms appear without a preliminary sketch and the composition is built progressively, guided by the energy of the moment and the images that surround him.
Tatakauzo works with great freedom of techniques and supports. Acrylic often constitutes the base of his canvases, but he willingly mixes Chinese ink, oil pastels and different mediums, using whatever is at hand to enrich the texture and vibration of the painting.
His universe is also nourished by numerous stays in Japan, from which he takes away the graphic intensity, neon lights and urban effervescence. This influence is reflected in his abstract compositions, where colors and lines dialogue and clash in an almost electric dynamic.
Tatakauzo's work has been shown in several exhibitions in Paris, Osaka and Tokyo, and his works are today in several private collections.
His paintings explore a territory between inner energy, instinctive gesturality and contemporary urban pulsation.
Feu intérieur
Feu intérieur is an abstract composition where the colors seem to wage a true battle, like a fire burning inside. Spontaneous gestures, splashes and superpositions create a strong visual tension, between chaos and balance, revealing an almost organic energy.
Created in a small format of 40 × 40 cm, the work concentrates great intensity. Acrylic blends with inks and oil pastels, creating vibrant textures and contrasts.
In his work, TATAKAUZO has for several years developed an instinctive and gestural painting where color, material and movement become the main vectors of emotion.
