Oil on canvas, my subject is a wooden rowing boat, the peeling varnish on the hull suggests a story of sea and work, I would like to give the work a rustic and nostalgic charm.
​My boat I have placed in the foreground with a slightly angled perspective to create a sense of depth that guides the eye toward the horizon where the sea meets a dynamic sky.
​The sky is meant to be the protagonist of the painting, the clouds, charged with shades of gray and blue, suggest a moment of transition, perhaps the approaching of a refreshing sea breeze after a day of sunshine.
