Description from the seller
Title: Energy Vampire (Original Work)
Artist: Jonathan Wain
Medium: Mixed Media (Spray Paint, Stencil, Acrylic, and Marker) on 200gm Canson Paper
Style: Urban Visual Culture / Neo-Expressionism / Outsider Art
"Energy Vampire" is an electric, high-energy mixed media piece by Jonathan Wain. This work continues the artist's exploration of distorted figurative forms, pushing the "Energy Vampire" motif into a more frantic and illuminated space.
The composition is charged with jagged yellow streaks and a deep, atmospheric blue background that makes the central figure oscillate between the foreground and background. By combining stencilled elements with loose, expressive marks and cryptic handwritten notes, Wain creates a composition that is dense with visual information but remains open to interpretation. It is a work of pure, unfiltered intensity, capturing a sense of frantic motion and psychological friction through bold colour and texture.
Technique: Expert use of stencil and freehand spray techniques layered with heavy paint application.
Aesthetic: A balance of chaotic energy and symbolic structure, typical of contemporary urban visual culture.
A powerful addition for collectors seeking art with an edgy, underground pulse.
Year: 2026
Total Size: 50 x 65 cm (includes a 1 cm border for easy framing)
Finish: Coated with a professional-grade acrylic varnish to protect the surface from UV rays and dust while enhancing the pigment saturation.
Signature: Signed and dated "JW 26" on the lower right-hand corner.
Framing Suggestion: The artist recommends framing this piece under glass or Perspex to preserve the paper and the vibrancy of the acrylics.
Shipping: To ensure the artwork arrives in perfect condition, it will be shipped rolled in a heavy-duty protective tube.
Provenance: Directly acquired from the artist's studio.
A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) signed by Jonathan Wain will be included.

Jonathan Wain is a contemporary British artist based in Spain whose work combines influences from street art, graffiti, pop art and abstract expressionism. Originally trained in Fine Art Sculpture at Manchester Metropolitan University between 1993 and 1996, he later turned his focus to painting, developing a distinctive visual language rooted in layered imagery and expressive mark-making.
Working primarily with acrylic and spray paint, Wain creates vivid, multi-layered compositions that often explore themes of myth, memory, conflict and transformation. His paintings blend spontaneous gesture with symbolic imagery, producing works that feel both playful and psychologically charged.
