17th Century Dutch Delft Polychrome Floral Tile Panel
Antique Dutch Delft polychrome tile panel featuring nine hand-painted ceramic tiles with traditional floral and butterfly motifs in blue, yellow, green, and manganese tones. The tiles display classic Delft ox-head corner decorations and visible early production firing holes characteristic of older Dutch Delftware tiles.
Likely dating to the 17th century, these tiles exhibit extensive age-related crazing, glaze wear, kiln irregularities, edge wear, and surface patina consistent with authentic early Delft ceramics. The tiles have been mounted in a later wooden display frame, creating an attractive decorative wall panel with strong historical character and visual appeal.
Each tile is individually hand-painted with unique botanical imagery in the traditional Dutch manner. The soft coloration, uneven glaze surfaces, and primitive folk-art style are highly characteristic of early Delft production.
A beautiful and authentic architectural decorative object suitable for traditional, farmhouse, cottage, or European interiors.
Condition:
Heavy age-related wear throughout including crazing, small chips, surface marks. Restored. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
Dimensions:
42 × 42 × 4 cm
Weight:
Approx. 7 kg
Origin:
The Netherlands
Material:
Tin-glazed earthenware tiles in later wooden frame
