Solid silver catchall in Rocaille style — Probable Egyptian origin — 1960s
Elegant circular solid-silver catchall, the rim adorned with a raised Rococo-style pattern of scrolls and finely worked acanthus leaves. The central basin, smooth and polished, features a beautiful patina of antiquity with wear appropriate to the piece’s age.
The reverse bears three distinct hallmarks, characteristic of Egyptian production in the 1960s, confirming origin and material. The piece has also been acid-tested and reacts positively to solid silver.
